L-shaped bracket

L-shaped bracket is one of the most common bracket types. As the name suggests, it has an L-shaped profile after bending along the uniaxial direction, usually forming a 90 ° angle.

L-brackets are used in many applications where horizontal objects need to be mounted to vertical objects.

L brackets are usually designed at 90 ° angles, but manufacturers can create different angles (up to 120 °) as directed. But remember, less ductile metals and thicker sizes are more difficult to bend and cannot accommodate extreme angles.

An important feature of metal supports is the holes for fasteners. Although wooden or plastic supports may only be drilled through at the mounting point, metal supports should have special holes. Determine the size of fasteners to be used when designing the support, and adjust the diameter of the support accordingly. Threaded (threaded) holes may be required if nuts are not available.
